Job Responsibilities and Tasks:

- Troubleshooting, answering questions, technical discussion with pre-sales and post-sales customers via phone/web/email.
- Work with the Engineering team for defect reports, troubleshooting, and feature requests.
- Become an expert on the Cloudian HyperStore storage system that is a high-performance, distributed storage system deployed on Linux.

How can you make a difference?
Under the overall supervision of the Director of UNICEF Tokyo, in the Public Partnerships Division, the Public Partnership Consultant will provide technical, logistics and communication support for UNICEF Executive Director’s visit to Japan, scheduled in early November 2022, and the World Assembly for Women (WAW!) in December 2022, in addition to technical support to other relevant tasks. By maximizing the opportunity of these high-level visits, the Public Partnership Consultant will act as a focal point for enhancing Tokyo Office’s communication and donor recognition activities such as organizing public events; active media engagement; facilitating strategic dialogue with key partners in Japan to strengthen UNICEF’s position as a best partner of choice for children’s right.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
Task 1: Event Management: In close coordination with relevant colleagues, coordinate logistics and preparation of high-level visits, (Executive Director, Regional Directors etc.) in Japan, in collaboration with other UNICEF offices, the Japan Committee for UNICEF (JCU), as well as other key stakeholders.
Deliverable: Preparatory documents and meetings for the visits, event, e.g. concept notes, agenda
Preparation of Executive Director’s visit: by 4 November
Preparation of EAPRO Regional Director visit: by 3 December
Task 2: Media Engagement: During above visits of UNICEF senior officials, in partnership with the Japan Committee for UNICEF (JCU), collaborate with Japanese traditional media to generate and maintain public interest in UNICEF's works and partnership with Japan. The activities with media include, but are not limited to, writing op-eds, and arranging interviews with UNICEF senior management.
Deliverable: One Op-Ed article and one media interview by Japanese traditional media, such as newspapers, magazines, and TV
Preparation of Executive Director’s visit: by 4 November
Preparation of EAPRO Regional Director visit: by 3 December
Task 3: Regional Narratives on UNICEF-Government of Japan Partnership: In close collaboration with Regional Offices, prepare a narrative document demonstrating the impact that Japanese contributions have achieved in the region, connecting region’s key priorities to Japan’s ODA priorities, and presenting the advantages of working with UNICEF as a partner of choice, as well as the region’s unfinished agenda. Two selected regions of focus to be defined.
Deliverable: 2 to 4 page long fundraising pitch and donor recognition document (by end of January 2023) for UNICEF Regional Offices (EAP, WCA, ESA, ECA and LAC)
Task 4: Support the Fund Raising team of UNICEF PPD Tokyo in the finalization of MOU with JICA and definition of technical areas of synergy with JICA, as well as provision of flexible support in the consolidation of year-end information on the office performance, as well as organization of year-end review.
Deliverable: MOU finalized and signed by December 2022.
Contract Duration: 4 months (11 October 2022 - 31 January 2023)
The selected consultant is expected to work in Japan, either teleworking or at UNICEF Tokyo office, during the assignment period. The consultant might need to be physically present if events and meetings take place in the form of face-to-face format. Details related to working modality and duration are negotiable.
